Clutton History

CLUTTON is a small township, 1 mile west from Broxton railway station, 3 miles east from Farndon, consisting principally of a few farms and cottages. The Hall, a plain structure of brick, is occupied as a farmhouse by Mr. Edward Blake. John Hurleston Leche esq. of Carden Park, Chester, who is lord of the manor, and Lord Tollemache, are the landowners. The area is 633 acres; rateable value, £885; the population in 1891 was 60.

National School, built by subscription in 1836, for 50 children; average attendance, 24.
