ULLOCK, PARDSHAW, and DEAN SCALES form a joint township extending from 1 to 2 miles from Dean, and consisting of the small village of Ullock, and the hamlets of Pardshaw, Pardshaw Hall, and Dean Scales. At Ullock is a station on the Whitehaven, Cleator, and Egremont section of the London and North-Western railway. There is a Wesleyan chapel at Ullock, built in 1870, and another at Pardshaw, and at Pardshaw Hall is a Friends’ meeting-house.
