Copplestone History
COPPLESTONE is a village, with a station on the North Devon branch of the London and South Western railway, 6 ½ miles west-by-north from Crediton and 207 ¼ from London. Copplestone was anciently the property and residence of the family of that name, whose co-heirs sold it about the year 1659 to Sir John Yonge kt. and bart. M.P.; it is now the property of John Madge Pope esq.
