CHIPSTEAD is a hamlet and pretty village of this parish, on the branch of the Darent, 1 ½ miles north-west from Sevenoaks railway station and 1 mile south-east from Chevening church. Chipstead Place, the residence of Frederick Lincoln, Bevan, is a short distance east of the village.
