Hatch End History

Hatch End is a small place, 1 mile north-east; here is the railway coal wharf. Pinner Wood is 2 miles north; the mansion was at one time occupied by the late Lord Lytton, who is said to have written his novel “Eugene Aram” (pub. 1832) in this house. Pinner Hill, 2 miles north, is the seat of Arthur Helsham-Jones esq. J.P. and is situated in extensive and ornamental park-like grounds, commanding a beautiful and extensive landscape on the Herts border.
