Peter and Paul is an ancient structure of flint with stone dressings, in the Early English style, consisting of chancel, nave, south aisle, south porch and an embattled western tower containing 6 bells: the tower was rebuilt in 1865 in place of the earlier tower, a structure of Norman date: the whole of the windows are stained, the east window being a memorial to Hannah Kay, d. 1869; there are piscinae in the chancel and south aisle: the benches have handsomely carved poppy heads, and part of the ancient painted rood screen remains: traces of color were also discovered on the roof and walls during the restoration: there are tablets to the Rev. Walter Worth, late rector of this parish and of Thorpe Abbotts, d. 29 March, 1755; to Thomas Cotton, d. 30 Dec. 1778; and to the Rev. Robert Lawrence, a former rector, d. 30 Dec. 1739.: the whole church has been completely restored, and has 240 sittings. The register dates from the year 1562.
