The sanitary arrangements of the parish are managed by a district committee of twelve members, who represent the Madeley Ward in the borough of Wenlock. Branches of the London and North Western and the Great Western railway pass through the parish and have each a station here, the London and North Western station called “Madeley Market,” and the Great Western “Madeley Court.” The town is lighted with gas by a company, formed in 1851, the works, erected in 1852, being at Hill's lane.
