The register dates from the year 1682. The living is a vicarage, net yearly value £260, with glebe and residence, in the gift of the Bishop of London, and held since 1898 by the Rev. The Earl of Ilchester, who is lord of the manor, Mr. George Hoddinott Cossins and Robert Neville Grenville esq. of Butleigh Court, are the principal landowners. The soil is loamy.
