The church of St. Etheldreda, rebuilt in 1856, is an edifice of stone in the Early Decorated style, consisting of chancel with chantry chapel, nave, aisles, south porch and a western tower with a small turret at the north-east angle, and containing a clock and 4 bells: the arcades of the nave are supported by monolithic piers of Babbicombe marble: the font is of Devonshire marble and Cornish serpentine: the stained east window was erected at the expense of Sir P. Acland bart. and Sir Alexander Acland Hood bart. and at the east end of the south aisle is a memorial window, placed by the St. Aubyn family: there are sittings for 150 persons. In the churchyard are the base and steps and a portion of the shaft of an ancient cross. The register dates from the year 1560.
