Monks Risbridge History
Monks Risbridge, given by Thomas de Woodstock, Earl of Buckingham and Duke of Gloucester, sixth son of Edward III. to Pleshey College, in Essex, was formerly extra-parochial, but is now a parish in Risbridge union, 1 ½ miles north of Barnardiston church, and belongs to the Hon. W. F. D. Smith M.P. and H. S. Golding esq. The area is 133 acres; rateable value, £87 10s.; but there are neither houses nor inhabitants.
