The church of St. Mary is a structure of flint, in the Early English style, consisting of chancel, nave, aisles, south porch, a small turret and an embattled western tower containing 5 bells: in the church is a fine monument of alabaster to Sir William Phelipp Lord Bardolph K.G. who fought at Agincourt, 25 Oct. 1415; was Captain of Harfleur, 1421—2; treasurer of the household to Hen. V. and chamberlain and privy councillor to Hen. There is a rent-charge of 10s. a year on the Bell acre; find Mills’s (Framlingham) charity supplies 5s. worth of bread quarterly to the poor of Dennington church. Dennington Hall, formerly the seat of the Earls of Stradbroke, is now a farmhouse. The Earl of Stradbroke is lord of the manor and chief landowner. The soil is rich loam, with a day subsoil.
