The church of All Saints is an edifice of flint with stone dressings, in the Early English style of the 14th century, and consists of chancel, clerestoried nave of four bays, aisle, north porch and an embattled western tower containing 5 bells: in the chancel is an altar-tomb, with recumbent effigy in marble of Sir Thomas Heigham kt. (1630), who distinguished himself during the Irish rebellion: there are also several monumental tablets, including one to Mirable, widow of Francis Cradock, 1631, and a curious brass to Thomas Burroughs, d. 1597: the church was restored in May, 1886, at a cost of £300, when it was reseated and a new carved oak reading desk and pulpit and a brass lectern provided: there are 420 sittings. The registers date from the year 1559. The living is a vicarage, net yearly value £230, with 7 acres of glebe and residence, in the gift of the Lord Chancellor, and held since 1886 by the Rev. Here is a Congregational chapel with a small graveyard, and a Primitive Methodist chapel. A cemetery of 1 acre was formed in 1891, and is under the control of the Parish Council.
