Warlaby History
WARLABY is a hamlet and township in the parish of Ainderby-Steeple and 1 ½ miles south-east from the railway station. This is the breeding place of the celebrated Warlaby herd of shorthorns. The principal landowners are Mr. Richard Booth and the Rev. J. H. Booth M.A. of Cockermouth. The acreage is 768; rateable value, £975; the population in 1911 was 62.
