Minskip History
Minskip is a township and village in the parish of Aldborough and union of Great Ouseburn, 1 ½ miles south-west from Boroughbridge and 5 ½ north-east from Knaresborough. There is a chapel for Wesleyans. A. S. Lawson esq. is lord of the manor; and the representatives of the late Humphrey Fletcher esq. are the chief landowners. The soil is strong clay; subsoil, sand and clay. The chief crops are wheat and barley. The area is 1,414 acres; rateable value £2,992; and the population in 1871 was 230.

The elder children attend the Boroughbridge school. A Sunday school is also held here.
