Hildenley History
HILDENLEY is a small township in this parish, 3 miles west-by-south from Malton. Hildenley Hall, now (1913) unoccupied, is the property of the Hon. Francis Herbert Dawnay, who is lord of the manor and sole landowner. The soil is limey and clayey; the subsoil is limestone, rock and clay. The acreage is 304; rateable value, £343; the population in 1911 was 54.
