Litton History
Litton is a township and village in Arncliffe parish, 3 miles north-west, situated in the valley of Litton Dale. Col. Crompton Stansfield is lord of the manor. The land is chiefly used for grazing purposes. The population in 1871 was 59 and the area is 3,924 acres; rateable value £1,539.
