Stock's Bridge History
Stock’s Bridge is a thriving and populous village, principally in the chapelry of Bolsteratone, but partly in Hunshelf, in the parish of Penistone. Here are Congregational chapels with schools attached, and others belonging to the Wesleyans, Primitive Methodists and Catholics. Coal abounds in the neighbourhood, and there are coke burners who supply the Sheffield market. Here are the large steel wire works of Samuel Fox and Co. Limited, connected by rail with Deppcar.
