Skeeby History

SKEEBY is a village and township, 2 miles north from Easby. There is a chapel of ease here, built in 1849, with 75 sittings. There is also a Wesleyan chapel, which is licensed for the celebration of marriages. The principal landowner is Leonard Jaques esq. J.P. The township contains 835 acres; rateable value, £973; the population in 1911 was 126.
