Dun Keswick History

Dun Keswick is a township in the civil parish of Harewood, 1 mile east from Weeton, and includes the hamlet of Harewood Bridge, so called from a bridge here over the Wharfe. The Earl of Harewood is lord of the manor and chief landowner. The soil is light loamy; the subsoil is sand and gravel. The chief crops are wheat and potatoes. The area is 1,467 acres; rateable value, £2,121; and the population in 1871, 163.
