Horbury Bridge History

Horbury Bridge, in the Wakefield county court district, is a large village and station on the Lancashire and Yorkshire railway, 1 mile south-west from Horbury, bounded on the west by the Aire and Calder Canal, where there are wharves; here are woollen cloth, worsted and shoddy manufacturers, dye works and railway wagon works, A mission chapel adjoining the school is used, for the services of the church.
