New Earswick History

NEW EARSWICK, a village, is the property of Messrs. Rowntree and Co. Limited. The new school is a handsome building, erected in 1912 by the Joseph Rowntree Village Trust, at a cost of £6,700; it is now handed over to the North Riding County Council as a public elementary school. The Folk Hall is used for entertainments etc.

Public Elementary school, New Earswick, for 200 children; average attendance, 100.
