Wilstrop (or WILSTHORPE), is a township in the parish of Kirk Hammerton, from the village of which it is distant 1 ½ miles east; it is in the East Ainsty petty sessional division and Ainsty wapentake, union of Wetherby, and contains 1,079 acres of land and a population in 1871 of 88; rateable value £1,272 0s. 4d. This township being in the ainsty of the city of York is included for parliamentary purposes in the North Riding. Andrew Montagu esq. is lord of the manor.
