Castle Levington History

CASTLE LEVINGTON is a small township of Kirk Levington. Here is a precipitous circular mount called “Castle Hill,” the upper portion of which is surrounded by a broad deep trench, and the summit, which has a diameter of about 50 yards, forms a hollow entrenchment. There are no traces of any buildings. The area is 1,060 acres of land and 11 of water; rateable value, £987; the population in 1911 was 42.
