STUDLEY ROGER is a township and village, 1 ½ miles west from Ripon, in the Eastern division of the Riding, Lower division of Claro wapentake, petty sessional division of Kirkby Malzeard, parish, union and county court district of Ripon. Teasdale’s charity is £30 yearly, derived from land. The Marquis of Ripon is lord of the manor and sole landowner. The soil is very heavy; subsoil light. The chief crops are oats, wheat and barley. The area is 986 acres; rateable value, £1,488; and the population in 1871 was 154.
