Kearby-with-Netherby History
Kearby-with-Netherby is a joint township, 2 miles-south-east from Kirkby Overblow, bounded on the south by the Wharfe. Here is a small Wesleyan chapel. The Earl of Harewood (who is lord of the manor) and Col. Crompton Stansfield, of Esholt park, Leeds, are the principal landowners. The area is 1,423 acres; rateable value £2,308; and the population in 1871, 232.
