Cotcliffe History
COTCLIFFE (near Leake), formerly extra-parochial, is now a parish, 5 miles south-east from Northdilgrton and 6 north-east from Thirsk, in Richmond division of the Riding, Allertonshire petty sessional division, Northallerton union and county court district, wapentake of Allertonshire: it contains one farm-house and a cottage. Commander Montague William Warcop Peter Consett R.N. is the sole landowner. The soil is clay. The chief crops are wheat, barley and oats. The area is 133 acres; rateable value, £114; the population in 1911 was 6.
