Kirby Hall History

Kirby Hall is a township, about three-quarters of a mile north-east from the village. The Hall, the seat of sir H. M. Meysey-Thompson bart. J.P. is a stone mansion, pleasantly situated in a richly-wooded park of 230 acres, a short distance from the parish church. Sir H. M. Meysey Thompson bart. J.P. is lord of the manor and principal landowner, The area is 427 acres; rateable value £1,073: population (1871), 59.
