Cliffe History
CLIFFE is a township, 1 ½ miles north from Manfield. Cliffe Hall is the seat of Murrough John Wilson esq. J.P. who is lord of the manor and sole landowner. The area is 696 acres of land and 14 of water; rateable value, £961; the population in 1911 was 59.
