Drewton History
DREWTON is 1 ½ miles north from South Gave. Here stands a hugh monolith, said to be a Druidie relie. The Roman way, which crossed the Humber at Brough Ferry, passed near here, and many Roman remains have been found in the village. The land is the property of Lieut.-Col. J. B. Stracey-Clitherow, J. Gordon Atkinson-Jowitt, and Miss Wimbush.
