Westwick History
WESTWICK is a township, situated on the banks of the river Ure, 2 miles west from Boroughbridge, in the Northern division of the Ridng, parish, liberty and county court district of Ripon and Great Ouseburn union. There are only two farms in this township. Lady Mary Vyner is lady of the manor and chief landowner. The soil is heavy clay;, subsoil, limestone. The chief crops are wheat, oats and beans. The area is 423 acres; rateable value, £540; and the population in 1871, 28.
