Brinsworth History

Brinsworth is a village and township 2 miles southwest from Rotherham and 5 east-north-east from Sheffield, in Rotherham parish and union. Thomas Gray Fullerton esq. is lord of the manor. The principal landowner is Mrs. Mitchell. The population is chiefly agricultural and numbered in 1871, 805: the area is about 1,391 acres; rateable value, £23,423.
