Masbrough History

Masbrough has now become an important district; it was formed into an ecclesiastical parish in 1864; there are several large iron works, where the manufacture of iron, railway wheels, tyres and axles is carried on; its commercial facilities have been greatly augmented by the Midland and Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway Companies the line of the latter is now extended to Doncaster and has a station near the bridge over the river Don.
