Raisthorpe and Burdale History
RAISTHORPE and BURDALE form a township in Malton union and county court district, about 1 ½ miles south-west from Burdale station on the Malton and Drifiield branch railway. Raisthorpe contains one farm, the property of Col. John Henry Burstall, of The Braffords, Cottingham, who is lord of the manor. The area is 2,112 acres; rateable value, £1,153; the population in 1911 was 80.
