Old Thornville History
Old Thornville is a small township 2 ½ miles south from Whixley, and is the property of Capt. Nathaniel Henry Hodgson, who is lord of the manor, and William Wood esqrs, The population (1871), 15, and the area is 266 acres; gross estimated rental, £700; rateable value, £630.
