Millbrook History
MILLBROOK is a village on St. Aubin’s bay, in the parish of St. Lawrence, and has a station on the Jersey railway, and is about 3 miles west from St. Helier. St. Matthew’s, a chapel of ease to the church of St. Lawrence, was built in 1840, and is a rectangular edifice of stone in the Gothic style, with a gallery at the north end and a sacrarium at the south end: there are 450 sittings. The register is kept with that of St. Lawrence's church. The living is a perpetual curacy, yearly value £180, in the gift of the rector of St. Lawrence, and now (1903) vacant. Here is a French Wesleyan chapel.
