The surname Ohalloran/O'Halloran was first found in the counties of Clare and Galway, (Gaelic: Gaillihm) in the province of Connacht, which is on the west coast of Ireland. Ohallorans have held a family seat in Ireland from very ancient times. The Ohalloran/O'Halloran family crest features a banner reading, "Clann Feargaill Abu", meaning "Victory to the Clan of Feargaill". Below this is a small yellow lizard facing left atop a knights helmet. Centered is a red shield with a white stripe that features three bluebirds facing left. The red portion of the shield features a white horse saddled and bridled facing left with its left front leg slightly lifted. The background features a red and silver grey tassel and fleur de lis pattern. There is another banner at the bottom of the crest which reads O'Halloran.
