The tribe of Abu Rumman has inhabited Al- Balqa region in Jordan, mainly in the towns of Al Salt, Um Jawza, Sallouf and Western Amman. The largest family of this clan are Al-Hussein and Hammad. The origin of this tribe isn't exactly known. The three most popular theories suggest they came from Al-Hijaz, Yemenite Jewish and some claim they originated from the town of Ramon near Jerusalem.
Rupert Downes dairy listed several prisoners with names ending in 'Abu Rman' captured along with Ottoman and German prisoners during the Second action of Es Salt.
