The word, ghazo, is an Arabic word which means 'invade'. So the word, ghzawi, means 'invader'.
In the old days people used to live in the desert and had a lot of land. The Ghzawi were one of the richest families and people used to come to their lands to graze their sheep, but some of the other families tried to steal their lands. When the Al-Ghzawi knew about this they went to them at night to invade them then remove them from their lands.
Al-Ghzawi lived in Irbid, Jordan, but there is another family called Ghzawi without the Al who are from Ghaza.
