The stories tell that they are descendants of Al-Hussein bin Ali bin Abi Talib, one of the two grandsons of the Prophet Mohammad, may God bless them all, and they actually back that up under a historical pretext, go back to the year 461 Islamic year (1068 A.D.), Their grandfather, Atiyah, emigrated from a Syrian city called Al Ma'ara to Damascus, where he died. He has left a son named Ali whom left behind three sons: Muhammad, Ahmad and Zinedine. Ahmed went to Al-Karak (a city in the south of Jordan) and his decedents bear Al-Qudah as a last name. As for the other two sons: Mohammad and Zainuddin, they moved to the village of Jabal Ajloun (in Ajloun a city in the north of Jordan). A branch of them moved to the city of Al-Salt, where back in the day, they made an alliance with clan of Hyassat and the family there parted into five branches: Bani Abdullah, Bani Mansur, and Bani Maslim Bani Yoseph and Al-Ma'abdah.
