In an undated charter of the reign of David II the lands of Lethbertsheills forfeited by William Lundie were bestowed upon Adam Argente (RMS., I, App. II, 875), and in April 1370 there is a confirmation by the same king of a charter by Adam de Argent (mis-spelled Salver in the British Museum MS.) to Marjory his spouse of the land of Lethberde schelis with pertinents (RMS., I, 320). By a charter of Robert II dated 19th day of March in the sixth year of the king's reign (1377) the lands of Lethberdschelis with pertinents in the constabulary of Lynlithcu, resigned by Ade de Argent, were bestowed upon Robert, earl of Fife and Meneteth (ibid., I, 571).

David de A., his brother, held Wymondley, Cambridge, by grand serjeantry. Giles de Argentine had a writ of military summons 1243, and Reginald de A. a writ of summons as a Baron 1296. The English line substituted covered cups for torteaux, as borne in Poitou, in allusion to their tenure by presenting a cup at the coronation.
