Barbara Baddie in record in Banchory-Devenick, 1598 (Ecc. Rec. of Aberdeen). William Bawdie, miller at Nydie milne, 1619, and three more of the name (St. Andrews CR.). John Badie, weaver in Newton, died 1745, and was buried in Nenthorn churchyard.
