Henry Bardiner, "indweller in Lethe," was executed as a pirate and "sey theiff" in 1526 (APS., II, p. 315), and another Henry Bardnare had a respite for slaughter committed by him in 1529 (RSS., II, 8). The goods of Adam Bardnar in Skamur were escheat in 1541 (ibid., II, 4060). Henry Bairdner of Cultmyln grented a charter 1606 (Pitfirrane, 428), William Bardner or Bairdner is in record in Torryburn in 1614 and 1621 (Laing, 1707; Si. Andrews), Robert Bardner, tailor in Carnock, appears in 1622 (Stirling), James Bairdner in Kirkcaldy, 1650 (PBK., p. 361), and others of the name are recorded in the parish of Clackmannan in the eighteenth century (Stirling).
