David Blabir in Aberdeen, 1408 (CWA., p. 317). Simon Blabre was chosen auditor of accounts there in 1433 (SCM., V, p. 41), and was on town council's service in 1442 (CRA., p. 8). David Blabre who was admitted burgess of Aberdeen in 1444 (NSCM., I, p. 8), is doubtless the David Blabyr who had a sasine of a tenement in the Gastraw, 1450 (Friars, p. 33), and was a charter witness in the same town, in 1464 (RAA., II, 154). David Blabir was ordered to be read) to enter the king's service in 1476 (SCM., V, p. 25). William Blabir had a remission granted him in 1492 (Cawdor, p. 80). William Blaeber in Mekill Fiddes, parish of Arnbuthnot, 1626, and two more (St. Andrews CR.). Lower says probably from some occupation. Blaber without prefix occurs in the English Hundred Rolls (1273), and Bliber is given as a cognomen in Islenzkir Annular, 1393, but there is probably no connection between the names.
