A younger branch of the Barons de Tateshall, descended from Eudo, a foreign noble, living 1086 (Domesd.). Boothby was held 13th cent. by Robert de Tateshall, the ancestor of this family (Testa de Neville). Sir Alexander de Boothby had a writ of summons, 1296, to march against the Scots. From this family descend the Baronets Boothby.
