Perhaps from Irish O'Bradain, descendant of Bradin, Englished Bradan and Bradden. Robert Braden in Renfrew and William Bredin in Foirhills were charged with opposing a new method of tanning, 1629 (RPC., 2. ser. III, p. 359). Elizabeth Braiding and two other daughters of Robert Braiding were heirs portioners of William Braiding of Litleclock, 1649 (Retours, Renfrew, 141). See Macbradden.
