Perhaps from Irish O'Bradain, descendant of Bradin, Englished Bradan and Bradden. Robert Braden in Renfrew and William Bredin in Foirhills were charged with opposing a new method of tanning, 1629 (RPC., 2. ser. III, p. 359).
