An old orthography of Bristol-also of Burstow, co. Surrey. The Bristows of Broxmore derive from a John de Burstow of the latter place, 1294. Stephen de Burstow, temp. Richard I. was styled De B. alias Fitzhamon, of which distinguished family he was probably a cadet, See Brayley's Surrey.
