BUCKHOLM: From the lands of the same name in the parish of Melrose, Roxburghshire. Thome or Thomas Bukum was a tenant of the Abbey of Kelso in the town of Reddene in 1566 and 1567 (Kelso, p. 521; RPC., I, p. 484). Euphame Buckam and Isobel Buckholme appear in Edinburgh in 1629 and 1652 (Edinb. Marr.), and James Buicam was clerk of the parish of Tyninghame in the seventeenth century (Waddell, p. 54). Adam Buckholme of Westlies, 1683 (Peebles CR.). Robert Buckham in Westlees, 1772, and John Buckham, tenant in Bedrule, 1790 (Heirs, 366,456).
