Helen Buclayr appears in Tullelum, 1512 (Dunkeld), and Mr. John Bucler of Kirkland is in record, 1647 (Inqruis., 3333). The name is also found in England as Bucklermaker and Bucklesmith. There was a Bucklemakker Wynd in Dundee now stupidly renamed Victoria Street. William Moyses alias Bucklemaker in Hill of Dundei is mentioned in 1615 (Refours, Forfar, 83).
