Peter Cady was burgess of Edinburgh, 1484 (ibid., 435), and three persons named Cadie are in Edinburgh Marriage Register from 1606. John Kady was reidare at Dunsire, 1574 (RMR.), and John Kady and others in Dysart were bound 1577 that they shall not perturb others in the town (Dysart, p. 39). Not likely, I think, to be a reduced form of Macadie, which see.
